Capron Elementary School announces that fifth grade teacher Faith Hewett White is the 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year.

White, a graduate of Southampton County Schools, is in her eighth year of teaching. This award is given to the person who displays a love of teaching, which includes commitment to students’ success. In the school’s press release announcing the awar, the teacher is described as being “a compassionate person that has sensitivity to student differences and awareness that learners have individual needs and abilities that require tailored instruction. White builds trusting relationships with her students in order to create a safe, positive and productive learning environment. Her teaching style easily engages students to learn and motivates them to succeed in and out of school.”

Further, White “strives to inspire her students to greater heights of excellence so they can leave a positive and lasting impact on the world around them.”

“We are proud of her dedication to Capron Elementary School and she is truly an inspiration to everyone,” stated fellow instructor Kathy Thompson.
