FRANKLIN

After voting to remove all remaining members of the Franklin Redevelopment and Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, Franklin’s City Council allowed three former commissioners to rejoin the board.

Jason Reddick, who had been serving on the board since mid-2019, and Charlie Ashburn Jr., who had only been serving on the FRHA Board since late January, were the only two FRHA commissioners to be removed and reappointed that same evening. Antonio Parham — who had also been appointed in mid-2019 but had resigned voluntarily in January — was also reappointed. Additional appointees named that evening were Robert J. Taylor, Andrew Page and Herman Harper, giving the new FRHA Board a total of six members.

Those removed and not reappointed were former FRHA Board President Cheryl Vincent, Shaqueana Barrett and Jeffery Clark.

All appointments are effective immediately. According to City Manager Amanda Jarratt, a seventh member, representing Ward 4 of the city, will be appointed during the Council’s May 11 meeting.
