FRANKLIN — Bernice Cutchins Rogers, 89, widow of James B. Rogers, passed away on May 4, 2020, in the East Pavilion.

She was a daughter of the late Joseph Crawford Cutchins and Virgie Viola Coggsdale Cutchins, and was also predeceased by a sister, Earnestine Drake Wade; three brothers, Roger Lee, Carlton and J.C. Cutchins; two half- sisters, Blanche Haldeman and Thelma C. Williams; and one half-brother Jack Cutchins.

Bernice was a 1947 graduate of Franklin High School, and a retired secretary for St. Regis Paper Company after 37 years of service.

She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are two stepsons, Donnie and Jimmy Rogers; a sister, Faye Cutchins Porter (Kenny); a sister-in-law, Flora Cutchins; and many nieces and nephews who knew her as “Aunt BB”.

A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, in Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. Steve Gibson officiating.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Franklin Baptist Church.
