Ken A. Sterling Sr.

FRANKLIN — Kenneth Alan Sterling Sr., 75, passed away on April 10, 2020, in his home.

Ken was a son of the late Paul Sterling and Rita McGowan Sterling, and was also predeceased by his wife, Glenda Whitley Helms Sterling.

Ken attended Massanutten Military Academy and University of Virginia, and was a retired engineer for International Paper.

He was the former owner of Shenandoah Construction Company.

Survivors include his daughter, Kristen Sterling and her husband, Kenneth Bird of Surfside Beach, South Carolina; his son, Kenneth A. Sterling Jr. of Oxford, Mississippi; his sister, Caroline S. Ennis of Florida; two brothers, Richard Sterling (Linda) of Peaks Island, Maine, and Bill Sterling of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Wyatt and Benjamin Sterling; and Glenda’s two sons, Peter W. Helms (Monique) and A. Keith Helms (Star) and their families.

A private graveside service will be on Tuesday, April 14, in Poplar Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Drew Dunn officiating.
