WINDSOR

Community Electric Cooperative announces free Wi-Fi available for members and the surrounding community at its Windsor office, effective immediately. Although this is the location at this time, it hopes to explore opportunities with other local businesses throughout the surrounding areas to identify more, and reliable, access points for our community.

With so many people working and learning from home, we want our members and community to have access to the internet during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Steven Harmon, CEO and president of CEC and RECORE. “We are all in a time of need and this is just one of the ways CEC can step in an help and we encourage other businesses in our area to do the same during this pandemic.”

The hot spot can be accessed in the Community Electric office parking lot at 52 W. Windsor Blvd. The hot spot is labeled Community Electric WiFi and does not require a password. This service is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. The utility requests that people only park in designated parking spaces.

Community Electric Cooperative, headquartered in Windsor, is a nonprofit member-owned energy provider that serves over 11,000 homes, farms and businesses in the counties of Isle of Wight, Southampton, Surry, and Sussex and the city of Suffolk. For more information, go to www.comelec.coop.
