FRANKLIN — Benny Edward Ricks, 71, passed away on April 8, 2020, in his home.

Benny was a son of the late David Randolph Ricks and Virginia Story Ricks.

He attended Southampton High School, and was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was a millwright at International Paper for 38 years, and was a member of the Bronco Rod and Gun Club.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Marina Henderson Ricks; two sons, Ben Ricks Jr. (Jeannette) and Bill Ricks, both of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Benny E. Ricks III and Ashtyn Ricks; two sisters, Shirley Hatchey (Mark) and Betty Harrison; a brother, David R. Ricks (Mary), all of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.

The private graveside service will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Bill McClung officiating. The viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday in Wright Funeral Home.
