With Virginia schools remaining closed through the remainder of the academic year, the Cover 3 Foundation has announced additional sites where it will provide free meals for children.
Breakfast and lunch will continue to be available at Cover 3’s headquarters at 125 S. College Drive, Franklin, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. through June 12. Additional meal sites in the Western Tidewater region include:
- Apple Tree Learning Center, 601 W. Washington St., Suffolk, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Apple Tree Daycare Center, 401 Broad St., Suffolk, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Suffolk YMCA, 2769 Godwin Blvd., Suffolk, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Each meal site will provide breakfast and lunch. No sites will operate on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25. The meals will be distributed via pick-up-and-go.
Participation requirements are the same as those for Cover 3’s Summer Feeding Service Program, meaning children must live in an area where 50 percent or more students are eligible for free or reduced-price school lunches. This is regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
