Relay For Life Pageant raises over $5K

COURTLAND

The fourth annual Little Miss Franklin Southampton Relay For Life Pageant was held on Saturday in Southampton County High School. Madelyn Cosby the director of the pageant, served as the mistress of ceremony. A junior at Southampton High School, she was recently crowned Miss Southside Virginia’s Outstanding Teen 2020.

Contestants from throughout the Franklin area competed and were judged in areas as such as personality wear and formal wear.

Contestants were placed in divisions based on their ages to become a winner in their division. The event raised over $5,000, and the Relay Hope Queen Ariel Hawkins raised $1,131 herself.

Special performances were presented during the program by Sheradyn O’Neil and Cosby.

Individual awards in divisions are as follows:

Mini Miss division

People’s Choice and Second runner-up – Kori Lynn Brock; Photogenic and formal wear winner – Jolie Hunter; Personality wear and First runner-up – Waverly Winstead; Princesses are Shelby Purdue, Olivia Griffin and Melanie Linnette. Mini Miss Queen Jolie Hunter

Little Miss division

People’s Choice, Photogenic, Personality Wear and Formal wear winner Peighton Hacker; Princesses – Emmalyn Baldwin, Harper Weaver, Hailey Richmond; Second runner-up Leighla Casper; First runner-up Aubrey Berland. Little Miss Queen Peighton Hacker

Junior Division

Photogenic, formal wear and First runner-up Caroline Priddy; Interview – Savanna Moore; Personality Wear – Addison Berland; Princess Savanna Moore; Second runner-up Addison Berland and Junior Miss Layla Weaver

Preteen Miss division

People’s Choice and First runner-up Jordyn Robertson; Interview and Relay Sweetheart Queen Taylor Pickel; Personality wear Jade Dawson; Formal wear Haley Yeary tied with Ariel Hawkins; Princess Gabrielle Johnson; Second runner-up Haley Yeary; Relay Hope Queen Ariel Hawkins and Preteen Miss Queen Jade Dawson
