Fire truck overturns on Old Belfield Road

At approximately 3:15 p.m. today, March 3, Southampton County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 13000 block of Old Belfield Road with reports of a Drewryville Volunteer Fire Engine involved in a single-vehicle rollover accident. This is according to Maj. Camden Cobb, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.

The vehicle was traveling east on Old Belfield Road when it left the roadway and overturned. No other vehicles were involved. The fire engine was occupied by four firefighters who were all transported to a hospital with minor/possible injuries.

A section of Old Belfield Road was closed down for approximately three hours.

No summons was issued following an investigation of the crash.
