SUFFOLK — James Robert “Bob” Holloman III, 70, passed away on Feb. 6, 2020, in his home with his family by his side.

Born in Southampton County, he was a son of the late James Robert Holloman Jr. and Adelle Vick Holloman, and was also predeceased by a brother, Tony Holloman, and an aunt, Charley Holloman.

Bob had earned his Eagle Scout Badge in the Boy Scouts, was a 1967 graduate of Southampton High School, an Army veteran and a former National Guardsman.

He was a retired supervisor in the Maintenance Department at International Paper.

Bob was brought up in Newsoms Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Britt Marie Stenback Holloman; a daughter, Kimberly Anne Holloman of Chesapeake; a son, James Robert “Jim” Holloman IV of Suffolk; two brothers, Terry Holloman (Nancy) of Franklin and Larry Holloman (Brenda) of Newsoms; five grandchildren, Madison Elizabeth Marie Patton, Sadie Holloman, Sophia Brown, Katie Holloman and Sydney Holloman; one great-grandchild; an aunt, Jane Ellen Vick of Newsoms; and several nieces and nephews.

The memorial service with military honors will be at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with Pastor Tom Wallace officiating. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home one hour prior to the service, and suggests that memorial donations be made to a favorite charity.
