SURRY
The Franklin High School Special Olympians traveled to Surry County Elementary School on Jan. 25 to compete in the Area 21 Basketball Tournament. The athletes competed in their age group and performed very well in Spot Shooting, Target Passing and the 10 Meter Dribble.
Spot Shooting: Xavier Branch, Wesley Giddings, Emmanuel Staten – 3rd Place; Dilisha Barber, Aushari Barnes, Arionna Swan, Abram Staten – 2nd Place; Jalen Allen and Nathan Stoffer – 1st Place.
Target Passing: Xavier Branch, Abram Staten, Aushari Barnes, Emmanuel Staten – 3rd Place; Jalen Allen, Wesley Giddings, Nathan Stoffer – 2nd Place; Dilisha Barber and Arionna Swan – 1st Place.
The 10 Meter Dribble: Xavier Branch, Wesley Giddings, Emmanuel Staten – 3rd Place; Jalen Allen, Nathan Stoffer, Dilisha Barber, Arionna Swan – 2nd Place; Abram Staten and Aushari Barnes – 1st Place.
Jalen Allen is the Top Male Athlete for FHS.
Arionna Swan is the Top Female Athlete for FHS.
