When we received the governor’s announcement on Monday of GMAX Industries Inc. coming to Franklin, the mantra “Location, Location, Location” soon came to mind. That is, if you want a great place to live or, in this case, set up a business, then make sure you choose the best site.

Evidently, GMAX also had that thought in mind when the company leaders decided on the Pretlow Industrial Park in Franklin. We certainly believe they chose wisely.

GMAX is setting up shop in the former Money Mailer, right beside access to U.S. Highway 58, which leads to and from the Port of Virginia. Of course, the road goes ever on and on to the west, which will enable the company to reach more markets.

Another reason that Western Tidewater is the right choice is that so many local leaders are continually making it known that this region welcomes business. Further, Franklin and Southampton County are great places to live, raise families and enjoy life.

Naturally, we all owe much thanks to the Franklin Southampton Economic Development Inc. for making the way here as easy as possible.

We trust that GMAX will be very happy for decades to come that the company chose us.
