The Park View High School Lady Dragons started the game in the Peggy Wilkens Gym at Franklin High School on Wednesday with a 21-13 first quarter lead, and held it easily throughout the game to claim a 63-47 win over the Franklin High School Lady Bronco basketball team.

After being behind 19-32 at halftime, the Lady Broncos made their best run at the Lady Dragons in the third quarter as they outscored them 20 points to 12. But the home team was not able to continue that scoring effort in the final period of play.

In scoring for the Lady Broncos, Jamia Flythe led in scoring with 20 points followed by Arbani Wiggins with 12 points.

For the Park View Lady Dragons, Azaria Williams led with 16 points followed by Deaona Watkins with 11 points.

Lady Bronco head coach Mona Sumblin said after the game, “The girls didn’t play that bad, they played well. We just need to be able to make layups, make free throws and do a better job on rebounding and that is the game. So, I am impressed with them that they did not do that bad against a good team. I think that we will do better next time and will get them. We are excited and we are never going to give up and we will keep on fighting.”
