Be not too late with letters

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Each year, we publish the letters of children — and sometimes even pets — to Santa Claus. Overall, they are sweet to read, though we wonder about some of the requested toys that are far more sophisticated than what we remember.

No matter, gifts are gifts.

All that’s to say here’s a gentle reminder that if your offspring, be they two-legged or four, want to send their wishes to the jolly old elf, then they should get writing posthaste.

Our deadline to receive the letters and photos is this Friday, Dec. 6, though we won’t quibble if they come in over the weekend. You may drop them off at our office on 1000 Armory Blvd., Franklin.

Be sure to include full name, address, hometown, phone number and age. Don’t forget the photograph(s) on both the letters and back of the pictures.

We are open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. these remaining weekdays. You can mail them to the paper at P.O. Box 497, Franklin, VA 23851. Letters and photos may also be emailed to santa@thetidewaternews.com. Please note the change in our address so that the letters don’t get lost.

We will publish the letters on Sunday, Dec. 22.

Santa awaits!
