FRANKLIN — Army SFC Richard Cory Edwards, retired, 65, passed away on Nov. 30, 2019.

Richard was born in Charleston, South Carolina, and grew up in Drewryville. He was a son of the late Roger Garvin and Ruth Mae Edwards, and was also predeceased by a brother, Roger Gray Edwards; and his twin brother, Robin Chris Edwards.

Richard was an Army veteran with 20 years of service, having served in Vietnam and the Gulf War.

He was a graduate of Paul D. Camp Community College.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 39 years, Annette E. Edwards; one daughter, Crystal L. Butler and her husband, Allen, of Franklin; one son, Jeremiah C. Edwards of Accomac; two brothers, James L. Edwards and his wife, Micheal, of Drewryville. and Larry L. Edwards and his wife, Judy of Pleasant Hill, North Carolina; one granddaughter, Audrey M. Butler; and several nieces and nephews.

The memorial service with full military honors will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Worth officiating.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
