A fall blood drive is scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, and will be in the Vaughan Gym of Isle of Wight Academy, 17111 Courthouse Highway.

Blood donations can take about 60 to 90 minutes, so to save time, potential donors are being encouraged to visit www.redcrossblood.org/rapidpass to fill out health questionaires in advance.

Donors male and female must be at least 16 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds, depending on height. IWA students must have a signed permission slip.

Lower- and Middle School families and supporters can support the drive through the Pint-Size Hero promotion, in which students recruit donors to give on their behalf. Donors through this program receive a commemorative medal.

This blood drive is open to the public. Register through any of the following means:

• Visit redcrossblood.org and use sponsor code: IWA.

• Make your appointment on the American Red Cross Blood Donor App. Visit the Apple App or Google Play stores, or text BLOODAPP to 90999.

• Call 1-800 RED CROSS.
