On Veterans Day, retired Air Force Maj. Allen Jones was presented a flag by Bill Earley Jr. of the Woodmen of the World Chapter 18. Jones, who is 101, is the oldest veteran residing at the Village at Woods Edge. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the 388th Fighter Squadron of the 36th Fighter Group in the 9th USAF Europe. Earley himself is a retired staff sergeant in the Air Force.
