The Franklin City Democratic Committee wants to extend a heartfelt congratulations to our newly elected sheriff, Josh Wyche Sr. The FCDC supported Capt. Wyche as a candidate for sheriff and will continue to stand behind him as sheriff. As chairman, I would like to recognize this historic victory.

As an old friend who has known Josh Wyche for many years, I am filled with immense joy and pride to witness his great accomplishment as well as his progressive growth throughout his many years with Southampton County Sheriff’s Department. I am confident that sheriff-elect Josh Wyche will serve the citizens of Franklin City and Southampton County exceptionally well. I am looking forward to his new leadership style and the improvements that will occur as him being sheriff to ensure Franklin and Southampton County safety needs are met at all times.

It is reassuring to know that sheriff-elect Josh Wyche is a man of good character; he is fair, uses sound judgment and possesses a heart of servitude. Congratulations to sheriff-elect Josh Wyche for a job well done on a successful victory.

I would also like to send a sincere thank you to all the members of the Franklin City/Southampton County Democratic Committee for all the hard work and dedication in efforts to make this historic event happen. I want to thank all the citizens who took the time to speak with us while we were phone banking, canvassing, and also for displaying the yard signs. Congratulations, this is your victory, too.

Last, but not least, I want to send a huge congratulations to our state-elected officials, Senator Louise Lucas and Delegate Roslyn Tyler for your victories on re-election. And, congratulations, to newly elected delegate of the 76th House District, Clinton Jenkins. All well-deserved victories by each of you!

It is an honor for the FCDC to continue to work with Senator Lucas, Delegate Tyler and our newly elected officials as we continue to pave our way to a stronger Virginia!
