Riverdale Elementary School welcomed guests for lunch during National School Lunch Week, which focuses on the importance of a healthy school lunch.

Each student at Riverdale decorated a sheet of paper and explained why they love school lunch. Some of the responses were as follows: “I am able to choose what foods I want,” “The lunch ladies are nice to me” and “I love the pizza.”

Riverdale students were also provided with food samples such as Asian pears, pizza bites and sautéed vegetables to try during their lunch. These samples were provided by the Southampton County Public Schools Food and Nutrition Department.
