Vital signs are percolating

What do the City of Franklin and Southampton County have in common? For one thing, their cooperation in business and industry yields positive results for both localities. For another, Hubs Peanuts.

As highlighted today on A1, the gourmet peanut company, based in Sedley for 65 years, will soon expand its operations into the former Farm Fresh grocery store on Armory Drive in the city. We think we’re safe in speaking for everyone that we all look forward to again seeing activity in that site.

Another example that Western Tidewater is improving is by the opening of Storehouse downtown. You might think, ‘So? It’s just a coffee shop.’ But we must point out that what makes the opening of Storehouse unique is the commitment of Kasey and Delia Square, who have been working on the project for about a year, maybe longer. In spite of obstacles, they have persevered. On Wednesday afternoon, the couple was joined by family, friends and fellow businesses to celebrate the opening.

Hubs and Storehouse are two more reasons to appreciate living in Western Tidewater.
