COURTLAND — Mrs. Evelyn Gregg Williams, 90, of Courtland, Virginia, peacefully slipped into eternal slumber on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, while in the care of Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin, Virginia.

She was born on Sunday, Aug. 4, 1929, to the parentage of the late Joe Gregg Sr. and Ella B. Gregg.

Cherishing her life, legacy and spirit are her daughter, Paulette Davis of Norfolk, Virginia; her grandson, Robert Gregg Williams Jr. of Portsmouth, Virginia; her brother, Robert Louis Gregg Sr. (Mae) of Boykins, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

T.L. Faison’s Funeral Care LLC., 301 Park St., Seaboard, North Carolina, is handling the funeral arrangements where Mrs. Williams will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7.

The homegoing celebration will be at 2:30 p.m. that day in the J.W. Faison Memorial Chapel at the funeral home with Elder Evelyn Mason delivering words of comfort. She will be laid to rest in First Baptist Church Cemetery in Severn, North Carolina.
