Southampton Middle School girls basketball team earned its first victory of the season over Vernon Johns at home on Sept. 26.

The team traveled next to Woodson on Oct. 1 before taking on Surry at home two days later. Members of the team are Jamiah Butler, Xamani Powell, Nic’Kylah Young, Indiya Reid, Da’Vyna Walker, Amani Barnes, Shar-Vari Eley, Rachel Wallace, Amariana Williams, Erica Francis, Jermya Boone, Lamaria Gary and Paula Matthews.

They are coached by Jamecia Hawkins, Erika Nery and Billy Jenkins.
