Potter for sheriff

To the Editor,

When a “high-ranking” former sheriff’s office employee endorses another candidate and then tells me I should not vote for Tommy Potter because he does not “know the right people” to keep things going like they have been, I know right away that my support for Tommy Potter is not at all misplaced.

Honestly, it is not “right people” that I want my next sheriff to know. I want him to know how to build a professional, community-oriented office. I want him to know how to interact with our young people and our seniors. I want him to know how to develop and implement policies that will lead to the Sheriff’s Office being accredited. I want him to know how to invest in the deputies that currently work for the Sheriff’s Office. I want him to know how to build strong relationships with our volunteer fire and rescue squads. I want him to know how to work hand in hand with the Franklin Police Department. So, maybe the former “high ranking” member was correct, my next sheriff might not know the “right people.” But I have listened to Tommy Potter. I have watched his Facebook and YouTube videos, and Tommy may not “know the right people,” but he has known how to earn my support and he knows what it takes to make our county and city safe, and how to offer the fresh approach to law enforcement that we need. Vote Tommy Potter for sheriff.
