On Nov. 5, the citizens of Southampton County and the City of Franklin have the opportunity to move forward into a brighter future.

Tommy Potter will bring a modern approach to law enforcement by bringing currently used and accepted policies that will hold the Sheriff’s Office accountable to its citizens and provide a level of service that the citizens deserve. Law enforcement is a constantly changing environment and Southampton County and the City of Franklin need a leader that is capable of understanding that component and implementing change as needed to bring the Sheriff’s Office into the present day. As his investigative team, we see him demonstrate these actions daily through his ability to motivate and develop those around him. His strong values, standards and experiences are truly what makes him a great leader.

Tommy Potter has the courage to make the tough decisions, but the compassion to listen to the needs of others. We have personally witnessed his ability to effectively coordinate complex situations, managing resources and personnel, with a vision of the big picture. We have also seen him roll up his sleeves and work side by side with his team to accomplish difficult tasks.

Southampton County and the City of Franklin deserve a modern leader. This man is Tommy Potter.
