On Tuesday, Nottoway Elementary School hosted its annual Family Reading Night. After enjoying dinner together, parents were invited to learn about the Title 1 program at Nottoway. While the parents were in the cafeteria, the students — dressed in their super hero gear — adjourned to the gymnasium to spend time with reading specialist Angela Deskins, the Southampton High School Beta Club and other NES staff members as they played games, read stories and took Accelerated Reader comprehension tests on the books that they read.

More than 200 students and guests attended the event.
The school would like to thank everyone who supported the super hero-themed Family Reading Night, Lorraine Green Whitehead Phelps for her presentation, and the SHS Beta Club for lending a helping hand.
