Denney Turner, Jackson Collins wed in candlelight ceremony

RICHMOND
Denney Turner and Jackson Collins were married at The Bolling Haxall House in Richmond, Virginia, on June 15, 2019, at six o’clock in the evening. The intimate candlelight ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Nathan Decker of High Street United Methodist Church.
The bride is the daughter of JoAnne Denney Turner and David Fennon Turner of Franklin, Virginia. She is the maternal granddaughter of the late Dorothy Derrickson Denney and William Franklin Denney Jr., and paternal granddaughter of Ollie Fennon Turner Jr. of Franklin, and the late Faye Daughtrey Turner.
The bride is a graduate of the Governor’s School for the Arts and Southampton High School (2013); Virginia Commonwealth University (2017) with her Master’s degree in Environmental Studies (2018).
She is employed with the Department of Conservation and Recreation as a Conservation District Coordinator.
The groom is the son of Lesa Hagewood Collins and Brent Allen Collins of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
He is the maternal grandson of the late Kelma Johnson Hagewood and William Dean Hagewood, and paternal grandson of the late Phyllis Jane Collins and Stanford Hale Collins.
The groom is a graduate of E.C. Glass High School in Lynchburg (2009): Virginia Commonwealth University (2015) and University of Louisville with his Master’s degree in Social Work (2019).
He is employed as a Behavioral Counselor at Rivermont Schools.
The bride was escorted by her father as she wore an ivory lace A-line gown trimmed with intricate beading and held a bouquet of white roses and hydrangeas, which were designed by Nicola Flora of Richmond.
Johnny Alvarado (Richmond) and Connor Rogers (Richmond) served as ushers. The bride’s brother, Josh Turner (Capron) and the groom’s sister Randi Collins (Lynchburg) were readers during the ceremony. Christine Watlington (Richmond) was the mistress of ceremonies. Amy Davis (Capron) and Blair Gordon (Ruther Glen) served as attendants. The bride’s aunt, Beverly Kermode (Temple, Texas), provided special music.
The reception followed with The Jeff Decker Band, which played jazz swing style music. Food was provided by Mosaic Catering, and Morsels Desserterie provided the cake.
After a honeymoon trip to Bermuda, the couple is residing in the Bellevue area of Richmond.
