Elizabeth Louise Darden

FRANKLIN — Elizabeth Louise Darden of Rosewood Avenue transitioned from this earthly life to claim her eternal rest and peace on Sept. 21, 2019, while a patient in Chesapeake General Hospital.
The Nansemond County native was born on May 19, 1942, to William and Aquilla Boone.
For 34 years, she was employed in the Dietary Division of Franklin Public School System and retired in 2009.
Louise was a member of New Olive Branch Baptist Church. where she served on the Hospitality Committee and the Usher Board.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Darden Jr., sister, Rebecca Ann Preston; and brothers, Carl Boone and Robert Boone.
She is survived by her only child, Howard Darden III (Twianna) of Chesapeake; one sister, Gloria Ann Boone of Chesapeake; four grandchildren, Terri A., Keri A., Howard S., Hassan B.; two great- grandchildren, Hakeem and Kennedy; and other caring relatives.
On Friday from 6 to 7 p.m., the family will receive friends in the funeral home.
The celebration of life will be on Saturday, Sept. 28, at noon, in New Olive Branch Baptist Church, 9364 Gates Road, Suffolk, Virginia, with Bishop Clarence V. Russell III delivering the eulogy; the Rev. Jimmy L. Boone will be the host pastor. The committal and benediction will be in Hunter’s Family Cemetery.
The family will assemble at 1200 South St., Franklin, and proceed to the church.
The service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Inc., 224 S. Main St.
