Rawls Museum to offer meditation, creativity classes

This fall, Rawls Museum Arts is offering some relaxing and rejuvenating workshops.

The first is “Meditate and Create – Creating with Feeling: Tapping into Your Creative Self, Your Muse Using Guided Meditation & Watercolor Paints.”

Sandy Bunch will be the instructor on Saturday, Oct. 19, and the class will be from 1 to 4 p.m.

Tuition is $45 for RMA members and $50 for non-members. All supplies will be included.

You will be guided in gentle meditation and simply putting color on paper at random.

Appropriate for all levels. No experience necessary. This process can also apply to all types of creative mediums. Wear comfortable painting clothes or bring a smock/apron.

The second is a weekly meditation series from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays in October. Tuition is $50 for RMA members & $55 for non-members. Sandy Bunch will be the instructor, and each week focusing on a different aspect of meditation: Clicking on Pause; Being the Observer; Deepening Awareness; Allowing/Experiencing; and Meditation Practice.

This is for all levels and no experience is necessary. Folding chairs will be used, but you may bring pillows if needed.

Bunch turned to meditation and natural remedies to help in managing her own health and well being. She was inspired to study further and to share with others. Her training and certifications include: Therapeutic Breathing & Meditation/Barratt Breathworks, Virginia Beach; and Hatha Yoga Teacher Training including ,editation at Inside Out Yoga Center, Norfolk; followed by a year-long deeper experience in yoga as a personal study. She lives locally in Southampton County with her husband and dog. She also enjoys spending time in nature, light gardening and dabbling in amateur arts.
