Dominion Energy busy restoring power

According to its online outage map, Dominion Energy has sent a crew for 124 people in Southampton County who are without power because of Hurricane Dorian. Earlier today, 430 customers in the Capron and Drewryville areas were without electricty. In Isle of Wight County, 131 are without power because of Hurricane Dorian. The company has also been especially busy in Suffolk (1,226) and the Greater Hampton Roads region.
If you experience a power outage, please make sure you report it to Dominion Energy immediately. Call 1-866-DOM-HELP or1-866-366-4357. If you have internet access, visit www.dominionenergy.com/outage-center/report-and-check-outages
Customers are also urged to stay away from all downed wires and damaged equipment, and call the company immediately to report these damages at the same numbers above.
Should a generator need to be used, follow the manufacturer’s guidelines to operate it safely.

WINDSOR
Community Electric Cooperative, based in Windsor, has no reported outages in the counties of Isle of Wight, Southampton, Surry and Sussex as of 12:30 p.m.; but there are eight customers without in the South Quay area of southeastern Suffolk.
To report an outage to CEC, call 242-6181 during regular business hours. Afterward, call the toll-free number 855-700-COOP (2667). If you have internet access through a smartphone, you can visit www.comelec.coop.
Customers are advised to call any time their power is out, and not to assume that others have reported the outage.
Further, once a report has been made, there’s no need to contact CEC again unless an emergency arises or your neighbor’s power returns and yours does not.
