Franklin City Council ended its contract with city attorney Taylor Williams during a special called session on Thursday evening.
Mayor Frank Rabil confirmed the action on Friday, adding only that it was a closed session and a personnel matter.
Franklin City Manager Amanda Jarratt stated to The Tidewater News via email, “I was advised by Franklin City Council on the evening of Aug. 23, 2019, that they had decided to separate from their contract with City Attorney Williams effective immediately.”
Councilman Bennie Burgess would only state, “I appreciate the service that Taylor Williams has given to the city for the past 10 to 12 years.”
