Man arrested for assault, narcotics possession

A Franklin man is in custody for domestic assault, according to Sgt. Scott Halverson, spokesman for the city police department.
On Wednesday at 6:26 p.m., Franklin Police responded to the 400 block of Clay Street on a dispute call. On arrival, officers observed two men fighting and a third man attempting to break up the fight.
An investigation revealed that Anthony Wiggins, 55, was the primary physical aggressor and had an outstanding capias from another jurisdiction. He was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters.
Wiggins was charged with domestic assault, capias, possession of Schedule I or II narcotics and obstruction. He was given no bond and transported to Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
