SEDLEY
The GFWC Sedley Woman’s Club had its 19th annual Veterans’ Recognition Program on July 4 in Sedley Baptist Church with about 85 people attending.
Anita Felts, president, welcomed everyone. The colors were presented by David Scott and Sam Davis of American Legion Post No. 73. Jacob Riggs led the Pledge of Allegiance. Wendy Foreman led the singing of the “National Anthem” and “God Bless America” and also sang a selection of beatiful patriotic songs.

Carol Majors, a retired Army colonel, was the guest speaker at the program. Her inspirational message was about patriotism and our country’s values. Submitted | Anne W. Bryant
Retired Army Col. Carol Majors gave an inspirational message about patriotism and our country’s values. All branches of the service were recognized. Each of the 26 veterans was given a patriotic angel with a Scripture verse handmade by Kathy Walden of Courtland.
A group photo was taken and a copy sent to each veteran.
Please mark your calendars for the 20th annual program on July 4, 2020, in Sedley Baptist Church.
