City plays host for annual Fun Day

FRANKLIN

The staff of the Franklin Summer Super Jam program played host to the annual Fun Dy program. The event was held on July 10 at Armory Drive Recreational Park.

The program that has been in existence for over 20 years and has members consisting of summer recreational programs of Charles City & Surry County’s, the City of Petersburg and Franklin Department of Parks & Recreation. Each year doing a rotation, each park & recreation department serves as the host of the event. This year due to the rotation, it was Franklin’s turn to host the event.

For the activities of the day, Franklin provided inflatable rides, snow cones/popcorn, musical games, pool activities and a host of field games. In addition, the host provided the popular gamer bus and a dunking tank.

The Franklin Summer Super Jam program is sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Virginia and the Franklin Department of Parks & Recreation.
