Early childhood educators and advocates for strong, healthy and resilient families are invited to attend a free region-wide summit on Aug. 16-17 at the Golden Leaf Commons, 1300 Greensville County Circle, in Emporia.

The summit, hosted by the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation and several local sponsors, will focus on understanding the need for trauma-informed care and promoting community resilience to the potentially negative impacts of trauma in childhood. Expert speakers and panelists will discuss strategies to support families and children who have been exposed to trauma and adverse childhood experiences. Participants can register to attend all or part of the event.

Advance registration is required for planning purposes; lunch on Friday, Aug. 16 and breakfast on Saturday, Aug. 17, will be provided.
