A Franklin man was arrested on a domestic assault charge early on Saturday morning, according to Franklin City Police spokesman Sgt. Scott Halverson.

Halverson said that at 12:41 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Forest Pine Road in reference to a domestic dispute between husband and wife. On arrival, the police spoke with the victim and she claimed that she had been assaulted by her husband and he was looking for a gun. The suspect was not on scene.

Several minutes later the suspect was found and questioned. He was identified as Pierre Weaver, 29, of Franklin. In addition to the aforementioned charge, Weaver was also charged with possession of explosive material. He was released on an unsecured bond.
