FRANKLIN — Mr. Lee Anthony Murphy of Lake Edwards Drive, Virginia Beach, transitioned home on June 5, 2019.

On Feb.11, 1962, he was born to Vita Lee Stokes and Almarine Murphy Boone in Franklin, Virginia.

Anthony attended the Franklin City Public schools and graduated from Franklin High School in 1980.

He was employed with the City of Virginia Beach where he worked in the Public Works Division.

In 1980, he joined the Navy and courageously served the United States of America for 20 years. He retired from military service in 2000.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandchild, Kam Murphy.

He is survived by four daughters, Krystle Murphy, Arlethia Jones (Josue Aurelis), Chennay Murphy and Chelsea Murphy; his loving mother, Almarine Boone; two sisters, Patrice Jiggetts (Theo), Maria Boone; one brother, Vita Boone (Odessa); three grandchildren, Josue Jr., Josiah and Cheyenne; many other relatives and friends.

The service celebrating his journey home will be on Saturday, June 15, at 2 p.m., in First Baptist Church, 318 Hall St., with Elder Karen Lee delivering the eulogy; the Rev. Marcus Jennings, host pastor.

Mr. Murphy’s remains will be placed in the church for viewing by noon.

The service with dignity will be performed by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Inc., 224 S. Main St.
