FRANKLIN

Two people from Franklin were arrested on Monday afternoon for possession of marijuana, and one of the two also charged with assaulting a city police officer, according to spokesman Sgt. Scott Halverson.

On Monday at 2:24 p.m., Franklin Police responded to the 1600 block of Dorchester Street for a report of illegal drug activity. Investigation revealed that a white female and a black male were in a vehicle conducting illegal drug activity. Both people were seen going into a residence in the aforementioned area.

A search warrant was obtained and executed on the house and vehicle. On completion, both individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Franklin Police Department.

Breanna Nicole Dumbar 20, was charged with possession of marijuana.

Malik Markeim O’Neal, 24, was charged with possession with intent to distribute and assault on a law enforcement officer.
