WAKEFIELD

The National Weather Service in Wakefield has announced that the severe thunderstorm watch has become a warning, and is in effect today until 6:15 p.m.

At 5:30 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Wakefield to Sedley and moving northeast at 50 mph.

Residents and businesses can expect potential damage to trees and powerlines. The NWS advises that as a precautionary measure to move to an interior room or lower floor of a building.
