CARRSVILLE — Robert “Bobby” Boone of Old Carrsville Road departed this life on June 1, 2019.

He was born on March 1, 1942, in Nansemond County, Virginia, to the late James W. Boone Jr. and Geneva Scott Boone.

He graduated from Georgie Tyler High School in Windsor, Virginia.

For more than 20 years, “Bobby” was a corrections officer and retired from Southampton Correctional Center.

He is survived by one daughter, Lori Boone Lawrence and her husband, Billy; two grandchildren, William Bryce Lawrence and Britney Lawrence; devoted cousins, LeVone Boone-Randolph, Carrie Jane Baker, Timothy Scott; and a special life-long friend, Otis “Skeet” Gray; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The service celebrating his life will be on Friday, June 7, at 2 p.m., in Pulaski Baptist Church, 6431 Carrsville Highway, with the pastor, the Rev. Dr. R.E. Rodgers, delivering the eulogy.

Mr. Boone’s remains will be placed in the church by noon for viewing. The committal and benediction will be in Southview Cemetery.

The service with dignity will be performed by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Inc., 224 S. Main St.
