This year’s recipients of the DAR Good Citizen Awards were introduced at the May meeting of the Hicksford Chapter of the DAR.

Pictured are the winners of the Southampton Academy Good Citizen Award, Katherine Davis, and Southampton High School Good Citizen Award, Jacey Bunn. The students are shown with Glenda Pope, committee chairwoman, and Janey Bush, committee vice chairwoman.

Not pictured is the winner of the Greensville County High School Good Citizen Award, Summer Jones. Each year, the Hicksford Chapter of the DAR presents scholarships to students at the three schools.

They are presented to students who show dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.
