Congratulations to ReShanti Wheat, pictured here with Wallace Johnson, Gifted Coordinator, for being selected to attend the Summer Residential Governor’s School for Math, Science and Technology at the University of Lynchburg. According to the Virginia Department of Education, this particular Summer Residential Governor’s School provides gifted high school juniors and seniors with intensive educational experiences in mathematics, science, and technology.

Students live on campus for four weeks. During this time, students are involved in classroom and laboratory work, field studies, research, individual and group projects, and seminars with noted scholars and other professionals. Throughout the program, a director and a student-life staff provide supervision of students 24 hours a day.
