The Franklin youth baseball league had its annual Family & Friends Day during games played on Saturday at Armory Drive Recreational Park. The games started at 10 a.m. with the Red team versus the Maroon. After a closely fought game, the Red held on to win with a score of 14-12.

For the second game, which pitted the Purple team versus the Royal Blue, the Purple easily defeated the Blue with a score of 12-6.

During second game, The Down the Middle Foundation President Darrnell Lee presented special awards to Legends of the City — Frank Davis, Butch Turner, Carolyn and Waverly Lawrence — for their hard work and dedication to the community. They also presented the Heroes Award to the late Tracy Grant and Trey Best.

The Franklin Youth Baseball League is sponsored by the Down the Middle Foundation and the Franklin Department of Parks and Recreation.
