Franklin High School’s field and track team participated in a meet on May 1 at FHS. Above at left is Myroen Barrett, who finished fourth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 57.30 seconds. This was just his second time running this type of race. Coach Mona Sumblin stated that the 4×100 boys’ relay team of Thomas Maxwell, Darius Eley, LaSean Nichols-Porter and Barrett has already qualified for the VHSL 1A State Outdoor Track Championships, which will be at East Rockingham High School from Thursday, May 30 through Saturday, June 1. Their qualifying time is 45.33 seconds. They are last year’s State 1A Runner-Ups in this event. All runners are returning except Barrett.
