COURTLAND — Gearleen T. Johnson March Harrell, 82, passed away on April 26, 2019, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

Gearleen was a native of Tazewell County, Virginia, and was a daughter of the late Garfield and Rosa Mae Lawson Johnson. She was also predeceased by two husbands, Reuben March Sr. and Owen Harrell; two sisters, Shirlon Tasker and Eloise Shupe; and two sons, Reuben March Jr. and Johnny March.

She was retired from the technical department of Union Camp Corporation after 36 years of service.

Left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Lisa March Hamic; three grandchildren, Carol Williams, Senior Chief Willie Fowler (Laura) and Nathan Hamic; five great-grandchildren, Austyn and Trinity Williams, Reuben and Kennedy Fowler and Aubree Hamic; and two very special friends, Maggie and Sherman Cole.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, in Beaver Dam Baptist Church with the Rev. Warren Johnson officiating. The burial will follow at South Quay Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, and suggests that memorial donations be made to a favorite charity.
