Public invited to prayer rally

For the 14th year, area citizens are assembling to observe our annual National Day of Prayer at the Franklin Armory Field Stadium. The date for this year’s prayer rally is Thursday, May 2, at 7 p.m. Our national theme for this 68th National Day of Prayer is “Love One Another.” The theme Scripture is John 13:34, which includes this powerful statement, “Love one another. Just as I have loved you.”

It’s an honor to cordially invite you and your family to come for this vital occasion of worship and prayer. When Jesus Christ lived upon this earth, he was the personification of love. The offering of His life which provides the basis for salvation remains the ultimate expression of love. God is love, and in that love, we purpose to come together and pray for our nation, our state, and our community, including members of our armed forces, public officials and public servants.

We will meet in the stands of Armory Field Stadium and we will be joined as one in the Lord. Last year, there were over 40 different local churches represented. Again this year, there will be people with diversity of church membership unified in prayer, believing God to pour out His holy spirit in the United States of America. Young people will participate in the rally. Remember, we are better because we have prayed together.

See you at the rally!
