CAPRON — Ethel Pope “Dick” Francis, 94, passed away on April 26, 2019.

A lifelong resident of Southampton County, she was the daughter of the late Percy Ashby Pope and Ruth Leah Scarborough Pope, and was also pre-deceased by her husband, Linard Thomas Francis, and her son, Linard Thomas Francis Jr.

She was a graduate of Capron High School and a member of Capron United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Donna Francis Slagle of Emporia; three grandchildren, Matthew Thomas Francis (Carla), Linard Brice Francis and Johnathan Mark Slagle (Katy); seven great-grandchildren, Matthew Francis, Mallory Francis, Kaya Francis, Dalton Francis, Brayden Slagle, Liam Slagle and Ben Slagle; and one great-great grandchild, Kaleo Francis.

The graveside service will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, in Capron Cemetery with Pastor Fred Brockhausen officiating.

Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, has charge of the arrangements.
