Brian Hedgepeth graduated from Franklin High School in 1977. He was active in a number of clubs, student government and played basketball and baseball. Brian graduated from Randolph-Macon College in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics/Business Administration. He also played baseball at Randolph-Macon for four years. Brian attended and graduated from the Graduate School of Retail Bank Management at UVA, sponsored by the Consumer Bankers Association.

Brian started work with Virginia National Bank after graduating from college in 1981. He worked thirteen years with this organization which, through various mergers, became Sovran Bank, N.A., C&S Sovran, and NationsBank. During his time with this organization, he worked in many different management positions, ultimately rising to the position of vice president and area manager.

In 1994, Brian went to work with Crestar Bank, which eventually merged with SunTrust bank. He worked a total of 13 years with them as well. His final position with SunTrust involved Small Business Lending covering the western side of its Hampton Roads Region.

After 26 years of banking, Brian was offered the position of Director of Retail Services in 2007 with Bronco Federal Credit Union. In June 2011, he was promoted to the position of chief executive officer and continues to serve in that capacity today. Brian has been very fortunate to have lived and worked in Franklin for 33 of his 38 years in the financial services world.

Brian participates in a number of community activities, including the following: YMCA of South

Hampton Roads board member; Franklin/Southampton Economic Development Inc. board chairman; Franklin Rotary Club member and past president; Ruth Camp Campbell Library Endowment board member; Camp Foundation board member; and Franklin Community Wall of Excellence board member.

Brian has always been a strong supporter of Franklin High School. He remembers his experiences at FHS and how much they meant to him. He also recognizes now (while he might not have known then) how much community support means to our school’s academic and athletic success. Brian has always personally tried to do his part to support our local school system. He remembers how much support the members of the faculty and coaches gave him and everyone else. They had a significant impact on his life and the decisions he made. Not only were they great mentors, but many of them became great friends.

As far as the personal side of Brian’s life, he is fortunate to have a wonderful wife, Terri. Together they raised two great kids, a daughter (Katie) and a son (Michael). Michael is married and he and his wife, Amanda, have given them three wonderful grandgirls. Other than trying to stay close to his family, Brian enjoys playing golf, Pickleball and keeping up with Franklin High School sports. Go Broncos!
