The home team won 8-6 on Monday. Coach Carrie Hoeft, in the foreground, said her team has been doing “as well as expected for the first year.”

The players are “hovering around .500.” There are six more conference games to play, and Hoeft said she’s hopeful the Hurricanes will make the tournament.
