MIDLOTHIAN — Gladys Catherine Daughtrey Atkins, 88, passed away on April 22, 2019, in Westport Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Born in North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Edwin P. Daughtrey Sr. and Sadie Holland Daughtrey. Gladys was also pre-deceased by her husband, William Archer “Bill” Atkins Sr.; three sisters, Faye Turner, Nell Story and Ann O’Brien; three brothers, Raymond, Thomas and Pete Daughtrey; and her stepmother, Beulah Daughtrey.
She was a graduate of Franklin High School, and a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church.
Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Patricia C. Ferguson (Steve), Pamela C. Gavin and Peggy A. Jordan; a son, William A. “Billy” Atkins Jr. (Kim); a brother, Edwin P. Daughtrey Jr.; nine grandchildren. Randy Withers, Karen Blanton, Caitlin Argalas, Mari Kathryn Gavin, Jacob Jordan, Jesse Jordan, Courtney Atkins, William Atkins and Ethan Atkins; four great-grandchildren. Jack and Emma Blanton and Natalie and Mackenzie Argalas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 26, in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Armand Jalbert officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
