FRANKLIN

We are pleased to share three new businesses are beginning their entrepreneurial journey as new clients at the Franklin Business Center, while one client has graduated into a permanent space within Franklin city limits.

First, meet Travis Parker with Coach P LLC. Parker works to inspire, influence and instruct people to locate their potential, and be positive, process-oriented and purposeful. The leadership firm provides leadership training, individual coaching, public speaking, and career opportunities. In addition to individualized consulting, Parker and his team also provide basketball referee certification.

Next, allow us to introduce you to Sandy Herek with Ignite Best Practices LLC. Their mission is to provide education services to individuals seeking guidance in living successful lives. Herek and her team provide life and wellness coaching as well as consulting services to mental health agencies from a compliance and regulatory standpoint.

Our final new client is Taunya Queen-Melendez with Rehoboth Counseling Services. Melendez and her team provide mental health services as licensed professional counselor supervisors. They also specialize in play therapy, serving both adolescent and adult clients. Melendez operates her business in Ahoskie, North Carolina, and is expanding her service reach to the Franklin-Southampton area.

We also celebrate a recent program graduate. Abe and Kandi Applewhite of KCA Logistics, Business Center clients since 2017, moved to a permanent facility in March. Located on 151 Sachs Ave., the business will continue to serve freight and transportation needs to local and regional clients alike. The Applewhites live in Suffolk, but have chosen to keep their business operating in Franklin, due largely in part to their experience as Business Center clients.

“The Franklin Business Center has given us a leg up on becoming a successful and thriving business,” Abe commentted on his experience.
